Industry

Biomethane is a renewable gas that can be used to decarbonize process industries. By replacing fossil fuels with biomethane, companies can reduce their carbon footprint and to a more sustainable future. Our biomethane sales service provides a reliable and cost-effective solution for companies looking to transition to a low-carbon economy. Contact us today to learn more.

Land Transport

BioLNG and BioCNG are sustainable and cost-effective solutions for decarbonising land transport, including buses, heavy and light duty vehicles. By choosing BioLNG over other fossil derivatives, you can make a positive impact on the environment and contribute to growing the circular economy.

Maritime

The sustainability goals for the maritime industry include reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving energy efficiency, and promoting the use of renewable and sustainable fuels. The International Maritime Organization (IMO) set targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from shipping by at least 50% by 2050 compared to 2008 levels.

Aerospace

The aerospace industry is increasingly exploring sustainable alternatives to traditional fuels, with biomethane emerging as a promising option for rocket propulsion. Biomethane, derived from organic waste, offers a cleaner-burning alternative that significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions compared to conventional rocket fuels. Its use can help minimize the environmental impact of space launches, aligning with global sustainability targets.

Agriculture

Biofertilisers have numerous benefits for both the environment and agriculture. They are made from organic materials and contain beneficial microorganisms that help to improve soil fertility, increase crop yields, and reduce the need for chemical fertilisers. Additionally, biofertilisers can help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote sustainable farming practices.

Why redo?

Partnering with a leader in biomethane provides several key advantages that can strengthen your business and support sustainability efforts. By working with an established provider, you gain access to a reliable, consistent, and high-quality supply of biomethane, ensuring uninterrupted operations and enabling long-term energy planning.

Redo is reinventing the way we value waste

Feedstock

Common feedstocks include agricultural residues, such as manure and crop waste, food waste, industrial organic by-products, and sewage sludge from wastewater treatment plants. The choice of feedstock is crucial because it influences the efficiency and composition of the biogas produced, as well as the quality of the resulting digestate, which can be used as a biofertiliser. By utilising organic waste as feedstock, biogas digesters contribute to waste management solutions and help in the production of renewable energy while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Biogas upgrading

Biogas upgrading is the process of refining raw biogas to increase its methane content, transforming it into biomethane or renewable natural gas (RNG). Raw biogas, typically produced from anaerobic digestion, contains methane, carbon dioxide (CO2), and impurities such as water vapor, hydrogen sulfide, and trace gases. Upgrading involves removing CO2 and impurities, resulting in a higher concentration of methane (usually above 95%), making it suitable for use as a vehicle fuel, for injection into the natural gas grid, or for industrial applications. Upgrading biogas enhances its energy efficiency and expands its use as a clean and sustainable energy source.

Transportation

Upgraded biogas - biomethane - is transported to end users through a network of existing natural gas pipelines, allowing for efficient distribution. It can be injected directly into the natural gas grid, where it mixes with conventional natural gas. This seamless integration enables biomethane to reach residential, commercial, and industrial consumers without the need for extensive new infrastructure. In addittion biomethane can also be transported in compressed or liquefied form via specialised trucks or containers for delivery to locations not connected to the gas grid. This flexibility in transportation methods helps facilitate the broader adoption of renewable natural gas as a sustainable energy solution.

Industry sectors

We take a comprehensive approach to the production and distribution of biomethane and biofertilisers that spans the entire value chain.

The biomethane value chain not only generates renewable energy but also supports sustainable waste management and contributes valuable by-products for agricultural and industrial applications. We are in the planning stages of developing large-scale facilities for biomethane and CO2 production in Norway and Sweden, which will significantly enhance our production capabilities.
